1600D Good Chemical Fiber UHMWPE
We are producing various bulletproof plates like B3\B4\B5\B6 according to EN 1063 or NIJ III, NIJ IV according to NIJ 0101.08 standards, the materials mainly used are Polyethylene (PE) or composite of PE and ceramics.Meanwhile, we can produce lighter bulletproof plates used with NIJ IIA, II or IIIA bulletproof vests. We would like to introduce NIJ III and NIJ IV Plates in brief, you are welcome to send us your inquiries, and we would like to design bulletproof plate according to your requirements.
Ultra-high Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE for short) Fiber, also called High Strength and High Modulus Polyethylene Fiber, is currently the highest strength and modulus fiber all over the world. UHMWPE fiber made of 1 million ~ 5 million molecular weight polyethylene, ranks among World Three High Performance Fibers, with nomex Fiber, carbon fiber.
1. Special Performance of UHMWPE fiber
(1) high specific strength, high specific modulus.
Its specific strength is more than ten times of the same wire, and specific modulus ranks only second to superfine carbon fiber.
(2) low fiber density, which is 0.97 0.98 g/cm3, and helps the fiber to float on water surface.
(3) low elongation at break and big specific work of rupture, makes it have strong ability to absorb energy, thus it has outstanding impact resistance and cutting resistance.
(4) UHMWPE fiber can resist ultraviolet radiation, neutron and gamma rays, and has higher specific energy absorption, low dielectric constant, as well as high electromagnetic wave transmission rate.
(5) It also has characteristic of chemical corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, and long flex life.
2. Physical Properties of UHMWPE fiber
Density: 0.97 ~ 0.98 g/cm3.
Its density is Less than that of water, which helps it to float on water surface.
Strength: 2.8 ~ 4 n/Tex.
N/Tex modulus: 91 ~ 91.
The extension degree: 3.5% ~ 3.7%.
Comparing to similar aromatic polyamide fiber, its impact energy absorption is nearly twice of that. Even though its melting point is 145 ~ 160 ºC under stress, UHMWPE fiber has good abrasion resistance, and low friction coefficient.
